about

Calming processed guitar loops and simple drums with powerful words and a feeling of future progress.

This song is about feeling like the world is ending and that you just wanna give up, and then looking up and realizing that there is still reasons to fight. I wrote it right when quarantine started, and it was very cathartic and affirming to write and sing this song so many times. It has almost become a mantra for me of the idea that I don't know what's coming next, and I just need to be patient.

lyrics

I find myself
searching for ways
to get back
to normal
now everything's gone
and I don't know where I've been
but I had my time
and I turned it all
upside down

I didn't know
this is how it would end
I'm feeling alone
I can't see my friends
life moves backwards
and everything is in reverse

I don't know where I am
can anyone see me?
I don't know where I've been
I'm lost and I can't find my way
but everything fades

Cut to black and I see
me and you
like a light at the end of the tunnel
I look forward and lose my trouble
now I can see

I didn't know
it would go on from here
so come on in the water is cool and crystal clear
so take my hand
and have no fear
life can't move backwards
nothing can reverse
